Below are the application instructions. At the bottom of the page, you will find links to the application forms.

 

Please note that if you are only interested in taking a couple of classes and are not interested in the Certification in Professional Rootwork (C.P.R.) credential, you do not have to go through the admission process. Go here to sign up for individual courses.

 

Thank you for your interest in applying to CU. This is a great time to join our community. The process for applying to the program is as follows: Upon receipt of your Application, Admissions will create a file and contact you to acknowledge what materials we have received and which ones we still need. After your application materials have been reviewed  , you will be notified of the admission decision. Please feel free to contact us at any time during this process with questions that you might have.Please note that application for admission does not mean automatic acceptance to our program. We want to be sure we are a good fit for your goals as our curriculum is highly experiential in nature and specialized. We will review your application carefully and make a determination based on the information submitted.

Please note: All application materials, once submitted, become the property of CU and will not be returned, reprinted or photocopied. All information submitted with the application is held in strict confidence and will never be shared with anyone outside of Crossroads University.

 

Application Checklist

New Students
Please use the following checklist to verify that you have completed all requirements:

 

 

  •  Professional Resume

  • Confidentiality Agreement, which you will be required to sign once accepted into the program.

Application Requirements
  1. APPLICATION FEE
    A non-refundable fee of $5 (US dollars) is required with your application. Payment may be made through Paypal.
     

  2. AUTOBIOGRAPHY (submit as Word document)
    A 1 page (1½-line spacing) personal statement/autobiography reflecting upon what led you to apply to CU at this point in your life. Please include significant life events covering most of the following:
     

    • Childhood experience
       

    • Personal growth work/spiritual development
       

    • Significant relationships, including teachers and mentors
       

    • Physical and emotional health history, including any psychotherapeutic experiences, major illnesses, and psychiatric or physically related hospitalizations
       

    • Significant educational, professional and business experiences
       

    • Experience in community and groups, online and offline
       

    • Research, scholarly studies or previous coursework
       

    • Knowledge of southern Folk healing and magic systems
       

  3. GOAL STATEMENT (Submit as Word attachment)
    A goal statement answering the following questions:
    What are your personal and professional goals? What role will earning a certification at CU play in achieving these goals? What do you want and need from the CU program? What are your expectations of the program with respect to learning requirements, experiential work, community environment? What do you have to contribute to the program? How do you see yourself using your CU education to contribute to the greater community after graduation? Have you done any independent research or projects?
     

  4. PROFESSIONAL RESUME (Submit as Word attachment)
    Enclose a professional resume, listing your work and educational history as well as relevant volunteer or training experience in the field of hoodoo, rootwork or any other healing or magical art.
     

  5. PERSONAL INTERVIEW
    An interview with the CU Admissions Committee may be held after all application materials have been submitted.
